The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)

As the first generation of the fellowship continues their unexpected journey to the Lonely Mountain of Erebor, this part deux from The Hobbit trilogy is easily a much fast-paced, action-packed, barrel of fun sailing up the river than its predecessor.

I went to the cinema filled with families and kids, and they very much enjoyed it. Being labeled as a snooze-fest flick from general audience, The Desolation of Smaug proved that it managed to capture the whole 161 minutes of our attention.┬áIf it were a book, this second installment is definitely a page-turner (Oh wait– it is a book). I didn’t even feel it was near the end until I found myself yelling at the screen “DAMN YOU, CLIFFHANGER!”.

PS: Keep your eyes peeled in the very very beginning of the film. You wouldn’t want to miss anyone.
